Scott Sampler sources from White Hawk Vineyard for this bottling, which offers hearty aromas of cooked red cherry, smoked meats, sweet tar, stewed figs and condensed coffee. The palate is fresh with pressed blackberry and violet flavors, but it's the velvety texture that's most compelling. The finish shows spice cake, black pepper and soy.
