Chabot Armagnac Vintage 1959

The nosings pick up deep scents of old saddle leather, dark coffee, black cherry, pipe tobacco, bittersweet chocolate, plums and toffee. Palate entry is semisweet, coffee-like and concentrated; the midpalate offers decadent tastes of cocoa, marshmallow, sweet oak, and even the beginnings of rancio. Concludes stately and elegant. An Armagnac masterpiece. P.P.
