Chabot Armagnac Vintage 1964

Opening aroma shows nicely toasted and fruity notes of oak, pine, pineapple, and banana; following aeration, the aroma evolves into a bouquet with succulent notes of deep maple, caramel and nut butter. Palate entry is rich, lip smacking sweet, and oily; at midpalate the taste profile turns cake frosting-like, sap-like, nougaty and luscious. Concludes on a minty note that undercuts the high-quality entry and midpalate phases. P.P.
