Chabot Armagnac Vintage 1980

Bouquet with delicate notes of chalk and spice with resiny and old parchment backnotes. Palate entry is off-dry, mildly woody and a touch honey-like; at midpalate this slow-developing Armagnac finally comes together as moderately deep flavors including light toffee, honey, and old oak make a last-ditch effort. Concludes flat and dull. P.P.
