Youthful and gangly, with plum and cherry aromas followed by black fruit and vanilla flavors. On the finish there is pronounced oak and drying tannins, which gives the wine a lean, starching mouthfeel. While it has some style, in the end it doesn't seem to be striving for much. —M.S.
