This wine has bones to last at least a decade, and needs a bit more time to come together. Aromas of rich black cherry, hickory, chiseled slate and loamy soil are more mineral than fruit-driven. The palate is also powered by slate and gravel, with polished but firm structure and a steadily rising acidity that cuts through the dark fruits. Drink 2020–2031. Matt Kettmann
