This is the pioneering winery's annual take on the fatter California style of Chardonnay, starting with a fat nose of buttery baked apples, seared white peach, pillowy meringue and pear-laced pastry crust. Cinnamon-laced apple pie and buttered toast show on the palate, but there's an underlying citrus freshness that keeps it lively. Matt Kettmann
