Chanin 2018 Los Alamos Vineyard Pinot Noir (Santa Barbara County)

Very light in the glass, this bottling shows smoked strawberry, sandalwood and a touch of toasted sage on the nose. The wine lands on the palate with hints of ripe pomegranate and baked strawberry, but it's the spice rack of clove, mace and nutmeg that leave the longest lasting impression. Matt Kettmann
