This is a solid McLaren Vale Shiraz, with a rustic seaside vibe that shows some barnyard reduction at first sniff. It quickly blows off to reveal more appealing aromas like juicy cherry fruit backed by dried herbs, flowers, vanilla and oak. There's a tasty tang to the fruit on the palate. The tannins are on the chewy, drying side but supportive nonetheless. Christina Pickard
