Charles Lafitte 1989 Orgueil de France Brut (Champagne)

If this is the current release, it is showing its age. The color is noticeably tilted to the gold side; and a sweaty, musty scent overrides the oxidized Sherry-cask character. Tangy, even salty in the mouth, with some bitterness in the finish. Paul Gregutt
