Château Berliquet 2002 Saint-Émilion

Shows a fair amount of toasty, vanilla-scented oak, but its well balanced by cassis and tobacco notes. Medium-to-full-bodied, with a supple mouthfeel and dusty earth and tobacco flavors. Ripe cherry fruit comes through on the finish, suggesting that better things may emerge in another couple of years. Joe Czerwinski
