91–93. Barrel Sample. Produced by the de Bouärd family of Château Angélus, this is a Merlot-dominated wine. It is structured and dense, with Cabernet Franc perfumes which lend extra interest. As with so many wines in this year, the crisp black-currant acidity gives the wine a wonderful lift.
