Château de Campuget 2013 1753 Syrah (Costières de Nîmes)

The right bank of the Rhône (the Gard department) is known for its Syrah. This is a fine example, packing plenty of plum and garrigue into a full-bodied, well-structured wine. Dried herbs, cocoa powder and espresso mingle on the still-firm finish. Drink 2018–2025. Joe Czerwinski
