Château de Charodon 2017 Grand Cru (Charmes-Chambertin)

Gentle vanilla and woodsmoke for now cloud the fruit on the subtle nose of this wine. The almost creamy palate unites vanilla and cherry while smoke still dominates. Lifted red-currant notes express freshness that counters slight heat around the edges. The finish is fresh, smoky, creamy and long. Anne Krebiehl MW
