Château de Gayon 2011 Dou Barrinquet (Madiran)

Cellar Selection

Now approaching maturity while still packed with black fruits, this is a rich, dense wine from David Ebert, a Chicago architect who found the property while cycling Madiran's southern boundary. Its tannins are dusty, as ripe as the juicy black-plum fruits and spice. Perfumed and concentrated, it's ready to drink now or keep until 2020. Roger Voss
