Château de Montmirail 2017 Cuvée de Beauchamp (Gigondas)

Whiffs of preserved red plum and raspberry are spiced with cinnamon and black pepper on the nose of this full-bodied but bright blend of Grenache, Syrah and Mourvèdre. The palate edges a shade richer and darker, suggesting black cherry and blackberry accented by fine-grained, grippy tannins. The wine should drink well now through 2030. Anna Lee C. Iijima
