Château de Montmirail 2017 Deux Freres Red (Vacqueyras)

Fragrant rose petals and peppery spice mingle into brambly blackberry and raspberry in this elegant but deeply concentrated blend of Grenache (70%), Syrah (20%) and Mourvèdre (10%). It's a rich, glossy wine framed by a fine, chalky grip of tannins on the finish. It's approachable in youth but the wine should drink well through 2027. Anna Lee C. Iijima
