Château des Charmes 2016 Icewine Vidal (Niagara-On-The-Lake)

It's not all that unusual for an icewine to reach 219 g/L residual sugar, but here the sugar takes over. Like sucking on a sugar cube, with a light touch of caramel apple. Not a bad effort at all, but lacking the complexity and acid underpinning to compensate. Paul Gregutt
