91pointsChâteau d'Or et de Gueules 2017 Trassegum Red (Costières de Nîmes)

Swathes of fresh green herb and menthol lend invigorating freshness to crisp black cherry and raspberry in this blend of Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan. It's full bodied and mouthfilling but vibrantly balanced. The finish is marked by a bite of cassis and fine, sandpapery tannins. It drinks well now but should hold through 2027. Anna Lee C. Iijima
