Château Haut-Monplaisir 2011 Prestige (Cahors)

Despite its obvious richness, this is an impressively restrained wine. Powerful dark fruits are kept in check by the firm structure and acidity. It has layers of tannins that will soften and round as the wine develops. From one of the best producers in Cahors, this is a balanced, structured wine. Drink from 2017. Roger Voss
