Deep garnet to the eye, this wine has a bouquet of blackberry and clove with a pleasant whiff of iodine. Flavors of dark plum, raspberry, chocolate-covered espresso bean, violet and sage are set against a backdrop of luscious tannins that recede into a spicy finish. This wine will best be enjoyed if it is decanted one hour before serving. Mike DeSimone
