Château la Chèze 2016 Côtes de Bordeaux

Editors' Choice

Touches of new wood give this wine a perfumed, minty character as well as weight and concentration. It is a rich Merlot-dominated wine from Jean-François Rontein's Capian slope vines, with a firm character that points up the need for aging. The dry core allied to the ripe tannins suggest the wine will not be ready before 2022. Roger Voss
