Château Lagrézette 1996 Cahors

Like a surprise Bordeaux, with aromas of smoke, blackberries, earth and cinnamon. Not surprising, since superstar consultant Michel Rolland is involved in this project. Medium-bodied on the palate, it's structured to handle years of aging but is approachable now when served with rare beef to cut the tannins. A blend of Malbec, Merlot and just a touch of Tannat.
