Château Lagrézette 2000 Le Pigeonnier (Cahors)

This is Alain Dominique Perrin's answer to the black wine of Cahors. Hugely dark in color, this micro cuvée is still impenetrable after eight years. The power and the density edge towards the medicinal, with a very herbal element in the flavors alongside the wood, black-plum skins and spice. Roger Voss
