Chateau Ste. Michelle 2005 Orphelin Red Wine Red (Columbia Valley (WA))

Orphelin is a real head-scratcher. A mutt wine blend of nine grapes, it might be trying to be Châteauneuf-du-WA except for the Cabernet, Petit Verdot, Pinot Noir and Touriga. Whatever, it comes together in a raisiny, broadly-built, unfocused red wine that could be fine on a picnic. Paul Gregutt
