Chateau Ste. Michelle 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon (Columbia Valley (WA))

Though labeled Cabernet, this includes ample amounts of Syrah and traces of Merlot, Cab Franc and Malbec in the blend. The tannins are strikingly dry, and the peppery berry-flavored fruit seems precise and focused. Consistent in both style and quality with previous vintages, this finishes with an impression of bitter chocolate. Paul Gregutt
