Chateau Ste. Michelle 2008 Indian Wells Cabernet Sauvignon (Columbia Valley (WA))

This should prove to be quite popular, as it's loaded with blackberry and sweet black cherry fruit flavors. It carries the fruit with stiff but polished tannins, and brings in accents of licorice, coffee and dark chocolate. Nothing is overdone; the balance here is just right, and the addition of 16% Syrah brings with it a dash of pepper. Paul Gregutt
