91pointsCheckMate 2016 Capture Chardonnay (Okanagan Valley)

Much like the 2015, but less creamy, and with a bit more peppery spice. It's all Dijon 76 clone, 80% wild yeast fermented in 44% new barrels, and put through complete malolactic. Nonetheless some sharpness remains, and another year or two is recommended to smooth some rough edges. For now, a mix of tree fruits and a finishing buttery note are in play. Paul Gregutt
