CheckMate 2017 Silent Bishop Merlot (Okanagan Valley)

The black cherry fruit penetrates from start to finish, with ample acidity and silky tannins. There's a dark streak of earth, char and coffee grounds that punches up the finish with a pleasing bitterness. It plays well against the sweet cherry fruit and continues on through with astringent tea and tobacco highlights. Paul Gregutt
