Chêne Bleu 2015 Aliot White (Vaucluse)

This still-vibrant yet mature white exhibits the curious aging curve of Rhône-white blends. A Roussanne-dominant wine blended with smaller proportions of Grenache Blanc and Marsanne and then matured eight months in oak, it's rounded and weighty but maintains a core of pert white pear and lemon flavors. Delicately smoky and kissed by honey, nougat and almond pit, the wine should continue to evolve beautifully through 2030 and likely hold further. Anna Lee C. Iijima
