Chester Kidder 2002 Red (Columbia Valley (WA))

It's 45% Merlot, 28% Cabernet Sauvignon, 8% Syrah and 19% Cab Franc, adding up to a somewhat amorphous blend that lacks a bit of focus. There is, on the other hand, plenty of juicy, ripe raspberry fruit, some coffee/espresso scents and a slight whiff of VA. This is the first red wine release from Allen Shoup's Long Shadows collective. Paul Gregutt
