Christophe Mittnacht 2018 Grand Cru Rosacker Riesling (Alsace)

Right away, this wine establishes itself as something quality and ageworthy, with sumptuous aromas of grapefruit pith and grape skin. This wine is languorous and slinky in texture, offering notes of grapefruit, white pepper and dried herbs like oregano and thyme. The finish trounces in, a bang of acidity as well as a grippy texture that gives it some staying power. While fun and epicurean to drink now, it's exciting to think of how this wine will be after a year or two in the cellar. Layla Schlack
