A pure Mourvèdre that's earthy in wood, cinnamon spice and black cherry, the Sandy Lane Vineyard is an outpost of 100-year-old vines in sandy soils. Velvety and full-bodied, the wine is robust and rich, a fine one for aging until 2017–2021 and then pairing with wild boar sausages in mushroom ragout. Virginie Boone
