Cinnabar 2014 Mourvèdre (Contra Costa County)

In this wine, a full body and a little extra fruit ripeness push the sometimes austere varietal into a more generous, expressive mode, where black pepper meets black cherry and the firm tannins feel rounded at the edges. It's a handsome, well-balanced wine that will drink best after 2020. Jim Gordon
