Cinnabar 2016 Pinot Noir (Santa Lucia Highlands)

Loads of purple flowers and wild thyme meet with aromas of black raspberry and alpine strawberry on this appellation blend from a winery founded by Tom Mudd in 1983. The well-integrated palate shows tangy black-plum and wild chaparral flavors, starting quite exuberant before tightening up around woody tannins. Matt Kettmann
