Clayhouse 2004 Hillside Cuvée Red (Paso Robles)

Lots to like in this 59% Cab, 41% Petite Verdot blend, but not without its problems. On the plus side is a lush texture, with fine tannins and a rich layer of oak. You'll find rich blackberry and cherry flavors, but there's also a touch of green unripeness, suggesting asparagus.
