Climbing 2005 Shiraz (Orange)

Starts off smoky, with meat-like notes, then adds cola, blackberries and spice on the palate. It's round in the mouth, with some dusty tannins and crisp acids on the finish, suggesting a pairing with richer cuts of beef or lamb. Drink now–2012. Joe Czerwinski
