Clos Saint Michel 2017 Les Garrigues Red (Côtes du Rhône Villages)

Whiffs of dried thyme, wild mint and crushed earth lend a savory tone to sunny blackberry and plum in this appropriately named blend of 70% Grenache and 30% Syrah. Voluminous and juicy, it's an approachably fruity wine but structured by firm, gripping tannins. Best enjoyed now–2024. Anna Lee C. Iijima
