Clos Saint Michel 2018 White (Châteauneuf-du-Pape)

From the sprays of white blossom and red apple that perfume this fresh, fruity white, it's surprising to learn it's been vinified and matured in 50% new French oak. Lusciously full yet crisply balanced, it's etched by traces of hazelnut and pear on the finish. Enjoy now for it's youthful vitality, but it should hold through 2028. Anna Lee C. Iijima
