A most interesting nose offers hints of barnyard funk along with baked cherry and chocolate. Though only neutral oak aging is indicated, there remain flavors such as coconut, vanilla and tobacco that are often associated with time in barrel. In any event, this is a flavorful, smooth and complex wine that's ready for near-term enjoyment. Paul Gregutt
