Willamette Valley Syrahs are rare, and here's why. Even in a picture-perfect vintage such as this, the abv doesn't reach 13%. Nonetheless, this wine merits your attention. Tart and peppery, yet balanced and showing some depth of flavor, it's a marriage of umami, citrus, raspberry and stem. High acid flavors of orange peel support it through a sharp, focused, lightly smoky finish.
