Earthy farmyard funk is pronounced on the nose but not overblown, giving way to a dense core of bramble berry, menthol and crushed black pepper. The palate is medium in weight, with taut brambly fruit and crushed pepper against a lifted frame of acidity and firm, raspy tannins. There's good concentration and grip to it all, and it should do well in the cellar for a few years. Drink through 2025. Alexander Peartree
