This Sangiovese is as fruity on the nose as the cherry color implies. It's ripe but still fresh, the red berries backed by notes of sage, ground black pepper and subtle florals. The palate is nicely balanced and linear with rapier acidity, fleshy fruit and fine, chalky tannins. It finishes a little short but would be a knockout with barbecue or roast mushroom fare.
