Barrel fermented in new French oak, this limited-production release is a clear green-gold color, and sends up scents of ripe apples, hazelnuts, olive oil and roasted nuts. The rich, roasted flavors show lots of barrel toast, decent acids, and an early hint of oxidation. Good for near-term drinking. Paul Gregutt
