Columbia Crest, Washington state's premier producer of value wines, has introduced a fourth tier into its lineup. Dubbed H3, the wines focus on fruit from the Horse Heaven Hills AVA. The grapes have optimal acid, and the flavors are ripe but firm. The fruit is a bit lean, but tangy, and there is an underlying minerality that adds persistence.
