The blend includes 12% Cabernet Sauvignon, 11% Cabernet Franc and even 1% Syrah (!) The nose shows a fair amount of wood and some herbal scents; the flavors are earthy, with hints of root and bark and leaf. But overall it's a well-balanced, hearty wine which, like the Covey Run, delivers the goods at a fair price.
