This David Lake Signature Series wine includes 23% Merlot from the same vineyard. There are definite scents of dill and bell pepper along with the expected cherry and blackberry fruits, and a hint of sweet oak as well. Restrained and supple, but not quite as ripe as one would hope for. —P.G.
