Darker in the glass than many contemporary Grenaches, this bottling shows rich aromas of black cherry, vanilla, nutmeg and gingerbread on the nose. There's a compelling elegance to the sip, where kirsch, dark-chocolate and coffee flavors ride tannins that are just starting to smooth out. Matt Kettmann
