Concannon 1997 Syrah (Livermore Valley)

This wine's exotic character led to widely varying reactions. Some panelists loved its ripe, intense, darkly fruited flavors, others found it pruney and overripe. Likewise, the viscous mouthfeel was dubbed rich and sensuous by some, heavy and leaden by others. Anise and chocolate shadings provide nice accents, either way…this one you'll have to try and decide for yourself.
