A lot of handiwork went into this wine; that much you can tell. The nose is loaded with heavy, oak-based aromas of coconut, butter and brown sugar. There's also intense dark fruit sitting beneath, and ultimately it all comes together in a modern, fruit-forward way. Not all that herbal or rugged; it's very polished and not terribly varietal.
